TEACHING
I am a teacher and didactic developer at ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art (2014 -), and Thorvaldsen’s Museum (2013 -).

Teaching in museums has strengthened my communication skills challenging me to understand and respond to students’ questions and improve my own performance. By conceptualizing the teaching material I use, I have developed a wide set of approaches using drawing, printing, painting, recording, writing, cutting, and molding.

At ARKEN my teaching concepts are related to the current exhibition from Hundert Wasser, Niki de Saint Phalle and Alphonse Mucha to Yang Shaobin and David Ostrowski. At Thorvaldsens Museum I primarily teach classical drawing techniques, employing teaching methodologies used in the École des Beaux-Arts in the 19th century based on the idea of “sight size”, where the aim is to achieve the same retinal impression in the work as seen in nature. In doing so the approach I encourage studens to use is very abstract consisting of straight lines applied in order to get the envelope shape  and overall impression of a figure. I also create material relating to the life of Thorvaldsen as well as the floors and ceilings of the museum like the course Fairytales of Paper Cut inspired by his friendship with H.C. Andersen and courses on perspective, patterns and negative space.

I work as a didactic art consultant as well doing workshops and developing teaching material.
Recently I have created a workshop for Hirschsprung Collection in Copenhagen about portraits in art in relation to the exhibition Keeping up Appearances. Portraits and Emotions in the Golden Age (2017), and I have worked on the overall educational concept for the traveling exhibition, Down to Earth, between Faaborg Museum, Fuglsang Museum, Ribe Art Museum and Hirschsprung Collection (2017–18). In collaboration with head of Danish Printmakers Åse Eg I will facilitate a workshop and an exhibition with printmakers from Denmark and Sweden, which will lead to exhibitions in Danske Grafikeres Hus, DK and Grafiska Sällskapet, SE end of 2018.
