WATERBODIES WITH 3 MOONS
The artwork is composed of silhouettes of water zones, rooted locally in Als Sund and centered around King Christian X’s Bridge between Sønderborg’s North and South Harbours in the South of Denmark, near the German border.
At the same time, the piece addresses global climate issues by tracing the contours of ecological unrest. It becomes a visual cartography of fragile waters—echoing the Great Salt Lake in Utah, fading as drought tightens its grip, and Kalveboderne in Copenhagen, at risk of flooding as rising seas press against the city’s edge.
Together, these forms gather into a constellation of water bodies, accompanied by three moons whose gravity tugs at the turning of tides. Here, low tide and high tide converge in an unsettled choreography with multiple temporalities.
